I’ve been talking a lot about wardrobe staples lately - those essential pieces that form the foundation of your wardrobe and make the process of getting dressed and feeling put together super effortless.
As someone who loves feminine fashion, a classic dress is always going to be high on that list of staples for me, and even if you wouldn’t describe your style as romantic or feminine at all, a classic dress in a fabric and cut that’s right for you is still always going to be a great foundation piece to have in your closet!
This floral number is one that’s been in my wardrobe for years and I know will continue to be one of my favourites for many more to come because it’s such a timeless style with the fit and flare silhouette.
I love the floral pattern and full skirt as it feels ultra feminine (it’s also so fun to twirl around in) and the bow detailing at the back is a pretty extra detail - I always look out for those little touches that make a piece feel extra special. The dress is also made out of a lovely cotton fabric so is very comfortable to wear (and easy to care for!)
It’s one of those pieces that I can easily throw on when I want to feel a little more put together, and it doesn’t require any extra thought about how to style it or what to pair it with.
That’s one of the best things about dresses - you immediately look a little more dressed up and like you’ve made an effort, when really you haven’t had to try at all!
If you have a classic dress in your wardrobe, you’re ready for almost any occasion. It can take you from a casual picnic to a more dressy event, simply by changing out your shoes!
That’s one of my favourite tips when it comes to having “effortless style” - fill your wardrobe with pieces that can transition super easily with a simple switch of your accessories and you’ll dramatically decrease those moments of “I have nothing to wear!!”
