My Style Diary - White Lace and Denim

Heya :)

So Sunday night has rolled around once again. The year seems to be passing by so incredibly quickly. I can't believe it's November already! I really do think that every year as you get older, the years seem to go by just that little more quickly. It's a bit scary!

Anyway...

This is a "typical Lauren" outfit for the warmer months - very simple and relaxed. I love the lace detailing on this top, it's so pretty and feminine, while being really comfortable too. I know this isn't the most interesting of outfits, but I love this laid-back, effortless style. It's what I live in over summer and just feels very "me".

Anyway, I'm off to have dinner and hang out with Tom... maybe watch a little Gilmore Girls :p

I hope you're having a lovely Sunday!

My Style Diary - "Florals? For Spring? Ground breaking."

Hello Hello :)

I hope you're having a lovely Saturday! We've been having such gorgeous weather lately and it's put me in a ridiculously happy mood!

This is what I wore to work this morning (I tend to dress a tad more casually for work on Saturdays). These floral pants have turned out to be a great purchase - I've worn them all year round but I think they're particularly great in spring.

Anyway, I'm off to get ready for dinner. I'm going out with my best friends and I'm

super excited to see them, as I've been a bit of a recluse the past few weeks!

Lots of Love

My Style Diary - Starry White

Helloo :)

I'm sitting on my bed feeling very  relaxed and sleepy at the moment, but I wanted to do a bit of blogging as it's been a while since my last post!

So far it's been a nice relaxing Friday night, consisting of a lovely warm bath and watching The Vampire Diaries. I'm not usually much of a bath person (I get bored too easily - and I worry that if I bring a book in I'll ruin it), but

my neck and shoulders have been really achy lately (the hazards of being a dentist...and having rather poor posture), and I've found taking a bath helps.

I've also acquired a few bath time goodies from

Lush

over the past few weeks which have made it much more fun! If you're not familiar with Lush, they are a company that makes bath and beauty products, and they have a whole range of colourful, absolutely amazing smelling products - bubble bars, bath bombs, shower gel etc etc. I happen to work dangerously close to the Lush store and have developed a bit of a bad habit of popping in during my lunch break, and inevitably buying a few bits and bobs. I might do a post on Lush at some point, as I find they're always fun to read!

Anyway, this has nothing to do with the above photos, so lets move onto the outfit :)

It's finally warmed up enough to start wearing shorts, and I'm so excited for warmer weather. There's something so nice about being able to walk outside in the morning and just smell that summer is coming! I've been wearing this star printed shirt from Country Road a tonne lately. It's such a great piece, particularly for this time of year, and I can wear it casually, or dress it up for work. I'm also really loving rose gold at the moment, and I think it looks great with white (which is convenient, as white makes up probably 80% of my wardrobe).

I just realised that I'm really not very good at talking about fashion/style. It always takes me a bit of time to think about what I want to say about my outfit, and then once I've written it, I think "that's lame". See, I don't really follow trends in terms of keeping super up to date with "what's in" and "what's new" - I just wear what I like and what I think looks nice, so my commentary on outfits is probably not the best. I guess that's the good thing about blogging though - you don't have to follow a specific rigid format. A blog can be whatever you want it to be. For me it's a record of my "personal style", along with a bit of  blabbing about my life lately. I'm sorry if it's boring!

Ok, that's it for tonight. I'm thinking I might re-watch some Vampire Diaries episodes. As you may have noticed, my choice in TV shows is not exactly the most sophisticated, but I seriously love that show! Anyone else with me? Also I'm a little bit (well okay a lot) in love with Stefan... luckily Tom isn't the jealous type :p hehe

I hope you're having a great Friday night!

My Style Diary - Feeling a little like Spencer

Hello

Once again, it's a Sunday morning and I'm sitting here with my cup of tea writing this post. I'm quite enjoying this little routine of mine. :)

These photos are from yesterday when I went out to lunch with a friend to celebrate his birthday. We went down to Fremantle to a relatively new cafe called Bread in Common. It had great atmosphere, the food was amazing, and it was a gorgeous sunny day! So basically, my idea of a perfect day - good food, good company, and lovely surroundings - it doesn't get much better than that!

Moving onto the outfit - I picked this dress up on sale from Jay Jays and I love the cut as well as the daisy? print. I'm really excited to wear it again as it's so versatile and can be styled in so many different ways. Expect to see it making many more appearances on this blog in the future!

Looking at this outfit now, I feel quite a bit like Spencer from Pretty Little Liars... It's definitely something she would wear. Out of the four girls, I like Spencer's style best (most of the time), but it's not always something that would be easy to pull off! The interesting fashion is one of the reasons I (and I'm sure many other people) like the show. It's a little unrealistic sometimes, but it's fun.

Anyway, I'll leave it at that for today. I hope you're having a lovely Sunday!

Lots of Love

My Style Diary - Leather and Plaid

Heya :)

It feels like it's been ages since my last post! Last weekend was pretty crazy with work and other things, so I didn't get a chance to do any blogging or even to take any photos. To tell you the truth I've been rather uninspired outfit-wise lately. I'm ready for lovely sunny, warm days so I can break out my summer dresses and shorts, but unfortunately the weather is not really co-operating!

This what I wore a few weekends ago just hanging out with friends and playing boardgames (yes I'm such a party animal aren't I? :p)

I recently bought one of those hair bun donuts, and I'm quite liking the effect. I never usually wear my hair in a bun so it's nice for a bit of a change. Honestly though, the first thing I thought when I tried it out was that it would be perfect to use if you were dressing up as Princess Leia. I'm a big Star Wars fan and have actually dressed up as her on a number of occasions!

Anyway, I'm off to watch the latest episode of The Vampire Diaries. I hope you're enjoying your Friday night!

Oh also... Thank you very much to Lizzy from

who nominated me for the Liebster Award. I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to do the tag but will hopefully be able to this weekend! Definitely check out her blog!
