My Style Diary - Coral and Denim

So... the first post since my rambly, longwinded spiel about about how I'm going to be "moving away" from fashion blogging, and taking Lauren Loves Laughter in a new direction... and I do yet another style diary post! *shakes head*

The thing is, I've had these photos just sitting here for ages, so I thought I may as well share them! Sure, it's not the most exciting outfit ever, but it's one of my favourites, and showcases a few of the very well worn items in my Autumn Capsule Wardrobe.  My go-to boyfriend jeans (the comfiest jeans ever!), a simple but bright top to add a splash of colour and fun, and my trusty black pointed flats. The capsule wardrobe experiment is still going strong, although I have to say I am missing my summery dresses now that the cooler weather has hit!

Anyway, I hope you're having a great Monday night!

I'm about to go to sleep 'cause I'm a grandma ;)

My Style Diary - Off The Shoulder

There's something about the off-the-shoulder style that always looks so effortless. I love the slight boho vibe it gives an outfit (any time I can embrace the boho look I go for it - it's not a style that usually suits me too well) and it's a great way to show just a little skin without being overly revealing.

I've had this French Connection top for ages and I'm hoping to get a lot of use out of it this season now that I've included it in my capsule wardrobe as one of the main colourful/patterned pieces. It's a nice transitional piece with the longer sleeve length, but still not too warm for early autumn.

I usually wear this top with a belt to cinch the waist in a little more, but on this particular day I decided just to go without, and I quite like the relaxed look it gives paired with the ripped blue denim. :)

What do you think about off the shoulder tops? Yay or nay?

Hope you're having a fab Sunday!

My Summer Capsule Wardrobe - a very belated post!

Heya :)

So this post is very late seeing as we are now well into autumn, but I shared a video showing my Summer Capsule Wardrobe a few weeks ago and just realised that I never actually popped it up on the blog! So here it is now!

These are the 34 pieces I was wearing all summer (and a fair way into March too) and I think it really goes to show that capsule wardrobes don't always have to be neutral or monochrome! I've loved my colourful summer capsule, and am so happy that I was able to make all the colours and patterns work, while still sticking to a reasonably minimal number of items. In the words of Caroline from Un-fancy, this number felt "generous yet still minimal" and I didn't feel restricted or bored at all.

It's so nice to have a clutter-free wardrobe, filled with just the things I need and none of the excess, and I intend to continue this "capsule experiment" through autumn and beyond - now that I've started I don't think I can go back!

I hope this can give you some inspiration if you're in the northern hemisphere and heading into spring and summer!

My Style Diary - Orange Printed Dress

Heya :)

Today I'm sharing an outfit from a few weekends back, when I wore this cute orange printed dress. It's such a fun print and I love the orange against the pink background. It's been the perfect summer dress to throw on when I want something easy and cool, but still lady-like.

I've realised that there are so many pretty dresses in my capsule wardrobe that I've been wearing all summer but haven't actually shown on the blog! The weather's started to cool down a little now, so I don't know if they'll make an appearance until spring, but if you're interested in seeing what other pieces were in my Summer Capsule Wardrobe, you can check out my video about it

 Have a great night!

PS: Sorry the photos aren't the greatest. It was not the best light, and my photographer was a little grumpy this particular day (we were walking home after being at the Perth Upmarket and he was getting too hot!) so I only managed to get a few quick snaps!

(Thanks for the photos Tom... sorry for making you take them! ;) )

My Style (and Travel) Diary - Stripes and the BEST raspberry ice-cream

So we're getting close to the end of my Tasmania photos... it's been really nice slowly making my way through them, remembering the little details and what a great holiday we had.

These photos are from our second last day as we were making our way from Cradle Mountain to Launceston. We of course had to stop somewhere for breakfast, and the Raspberry Farm Cafe didn't disappoint. We also managed to fit in an ice-cream after breakkie and I'm pretty sure it was the best sorbet I've ever had. The raspberries in Tassie were just soo good - I wish we could get ones like that here!

As usual I was wearing a pretty relaxed, comfy outfit. I never used to be that into stripes, but they've grown on me lately and this top has been getting a lota love. I particularly love pairing it with a red lip and my ray ban sunnies. It makes me feel a little more glamourous :)

Anyway, I'm gonna leave it at that today - I hope you've had a nice Monday. To be honest mine has been pretty crappy as I woke up with a migraine :( but fortunately feeling quite  a bit better now. I've basically been trying to just rest all day, but at least I've managed to do one somewhat productive thing, now that I've written this post.  Sorry to end on a low note -  but this blog is kinda a "diary" of sorts for me, and I do like to include little bits of what is really going on from time to time. Do any of you suffer from migraines too? I'm fortunate in that I don't get them too often, but they really do knock me down and it's pretty sucky when you lose a whole day because you literally can't function properly.

Anyway enough complaining!

Have a great Monday night

Lots of Love
