My Style (and Travel) Diary - Breakfast at a Bakery and Strolling Around Hobart

Hello hello!

So this is my first post for 2016!

I hope you had a great New Years and a lovely start to January.

I'd been planning on doing a New Years Resolutions type post, but to be honest I haven't actually gotten around to writing down anything specific just yet! I have a few ideas floating around in my head though, so they may end up making an appearance soon (better late than never right?)

Anyway...

Today I have a few photos from Hobart to share! As you may have noticed if follow me on Instagram, one of Tom and my favourite things to do together is go out for breakfast, so of course finding awesome places for breakfast/brunch is a top priority when we're on holiday!

On our second day in Hobart (the first day we ate at our B&B) we found a lovely little bakery called Jackman & McRoss.  The breakfast was pretty good, Tom had just a standard eggs on toast, with some spinach thrown in, while I had a kind of breakfast fritatta. The highlight though was the almond croissant, which I think is the the biggest almond croissant I've ever seen! (The photos don't really do it justice!)

After breakfast we went for a bit of a stroll around Hobart (taking many photos of the gorgeous houses along the way- more coming soon I promise!) and then hopped in the car and headed off to our next destination.

Outfit-wise it was (as usual) a very simple affair - white quilted jumper, navy jeans and comfy shoes. I really am loving this navy and white theme at the moment! It was thankfully not as chilly on our second day (the first day in Hobart was absolutely freezing!) so this combo was perfect!

We only had a couple of days in Hobart but I really fell in love with the place.

I definitely plan on returning one day.

There will be another post about Mona and the Salamanca Markets heading your way in a bit - I just need to get around to sorting out those photos!

Hope you're having a lovely day!

My Style (and Travel) Diary - Breakfast at The Hardware Societe

Hello!

Tom and I have been back in Perth for over a week now and I've finally found a little time to have a look through the many photos of what turned out to be a seriously awesome trip to Melbourne and Tasmania.

These photos were taken on our second day in Melbourne, in the short time we had before jetting off to Hobart.

Of course we had to have breakfast (it's our

thing)

and The Hardware Societe was top of my list of places to try out.

We weren't disappointed! It was a cute little place with butterflies on the walls and lovely pendant lights, and our seat at the bar area gave us the perfect view of all the yummy food being prepared.

I chose the Brioche French Toast while Tom went for a more savoury option with the Croque Madame. Both were delicious! (Although we probably ate a little too much and were both feeling uncomfortably full by the end... I guess that's a sign we enjoyed the food though!)

It was a little chilly in Melbourne, so it was a jeans and t-shirt outfit for the day, with my lightweight navy trench coat over the top. Simple and comfy, but classic - and dressed up tad with a slick of red lipstick (I've been loving red lipstick lately).

Hope you're having a great night!

Lots of Love

Feeling Christmassy in Melbourne

Hello :)

Merry Christmas!

It's now boxing day in Australia  but I thought I'd quickly share a few festive photos from when we were in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago.

It was quite a short stop in Melbourne - we were only there for one night, but we had the morning to walk around before heading to the airport and on to Tasmania.

There were some beautiful Christmas lights and decorations around the city, and I really loved walking through Royal Arcade (where most of these photos were taken) as it was looking particularly festive. There was a really beautiful store there selling  Babushka dolls and Christmas baubles from Russia that were so beautiful!

We had a lovely time just strolling around and feeling that festive, magical vibe, so I hope you enjoy these photos!

I hope you've had a really lovely Christmas!

Lots of Love

My Style Diary - Pink is My Happy Colour

Hello Hello :)

So right now as I'm writing this post, Tom and I are on holiday! Yay!

We just arrived here in Hobart this evening, after having an awesome time in Melbourne where we went to see the Taylor Swift concert! (More on that later - it was

amazing!!

)

Today though,  I have some very colourful photos to share from our first day in Melbourne.

After dropping our bags off at the hotel, we went for a wander and eventually made our way over to Hosier Lane to check out the new street art (it's all completely changed since we were there in May). The colourful murals proved to be the perfect backdrop for a few outfit photos, seeing as I was wearing a very bright pink top!

This was my plane outfit - very simple and comfy, but spiced up a little with a long necklace.

I don't think I've shown this top in many of my blog photos, but I wear it all the time to work. It's such a "feel-good" top and one that I also tend to throw on when I'm feeling a bit "blah", because you just can't be sad or grumpy when you're wearing such a bright, happy colour!

There were a lot of people taking photos of the street art yesterday - even a couple having their wedding photos taken there - so there was a really fun vibe about the place.

Anyway, I'm kind of falling asleep right now,  so I better leave it at that, but there will hopefully be lots more posts coming, so talk to you soon!

In the meantime - let me know if you've ever been to Tassie and if you have any suggestions of things to do or see!

Also... What's your "happy colour?" :)

Lots of Love

Melbourne Travel Diary - Day 3

As you can probably tell by now, Tom and I love our food (particularly breakfast food) and we tend to plan our days around where we're going to eat!

We'd been recommended a place called

Chez Dre

in South Melbourne, so we caught a tram and headed off in search of this French-inspired patisserie/cafe. Located in a revamped warehouse, the setting was perfect and of course the food ended up being delicious! I definitely recommend the french toast if you visit!

Once we'd stuffed ourselves with food, we had a look around the South Melbourne Markets, and then caught a tram to St Kilda where we enjoyed some sunshine while walking along the beach, before going in search of the famous Luna Park (admittedly just for the photo - we didn't actually end up going inside!)

Then it was off to Chapel Street for some shopping (at least that was the plan). I've already mentioned this in a previous post, but we ended up walking almost the full length of the street before finding the actually "shopping area", so by the time we actually reached this part we were exhausted! - It's a long street!

It was really fun just strolling around exploring the area though and coming across cute little places we wouldn't have found if we'd just caught a tram. My favourite find was this little bookshop that reminded me so much of something out of Harry Potter. The bookshelves towered to the ceiling and were all higgledy piggledy, and there were cats just strolling around or curled up in a chair!

We walked through the Botanic Gardens on our way back and it was such a beautiful place, although it was starting to get dark by this point  so we didn't get to fully explore it - we'll be back though!

We ended the day with dinner at

Movida

- a Spanish tapas bar. The food was seriously

so good

and I highly recommend it!

So that's it for our Melbourne trip! I didn't take many photos on our last day (but it was a pretty similar thing - lots of eating and walking around exploring!)

I've actually just bought tickets to see Taylor Swift in Melbourne in December so I'm excited to be going back in a few months (although still kinda annoyed that she's not coming to Perth!)

There's still so many things to see and do there, so if you have any suggestions for next time, I'd love to hear them!

I actually "vlogged" some parts of the trip too and have been slowly putting the clips together  (my editing skills need a lot of work though), so I'm toying with the idea of putting that video up.

I love watching vlogs on YouTube so I am kinda tempted to give them a try myself... we'll see if that actually happens :)

Anyway, I hope you're having a fab day!

Lots of Love
