My Style Diary - I just can't resist a cute tee!

Today was a really great day because I had the chance to catch up with two old friends, one of whom I hadn't seen for 5 years!

We met up for lunch and a spot of shopping, and it seriously felt like we'd never been apart (despite the fact that we hadn't been in contact for that whole time!) You know how sometimes you catch up with someone who you haven't seen in a while, and it's just sooo

awkward

?! (Or maybe that's just me...I feel like I'm a rather awkward person). Well this was the complete opposite and I had such a fun, girlie afternoon, just chatting, eating delicious food, and playing around with makeup in David Jones. I even told them about my little blog, (which until then, only my mum and boyfriend knew about).

I still feel a bit weird about the fact that I actually have a blog... I guess it's because I don't consider myself a particularly fashionable person. I just like to dress up in clothes that I like, and I don't really follow trends or anything like that. Most of the time I choose comfort over looks, and my past few posts haven't been particularly exciting. Which then makes me think "why am I blogging?" I guess the answer is "that it's fun!" I like being able to scroll back through my outfits (some that I love, others that I'm not so sure about), and being reminded of what I was doing that day, what mood I was in etc. It's a nice little diary, which I hope to continue for quite some time.

Anyway, the above is not actually what I wore today. My tripod is still yet to be replaced, and I haven't had a chance to rope anyone into taking photos for me! Also, my sister has packed away the camera I was using to take with her to Europe, so I'm going to be pulling out "the big fancy camera"... and that may take a little while for me to figure out as I'm not the best with complicated cameras!

Enough of the rambling and excuses! These photos were taken ages ago, and although it's not the most exciting outfit, it is very "typical Lauren", on a lazy "comfy" day. I love cute t-shirts, and my Mum brought this one back for me from Singapore. I love the heart printed cardigan too - it's super soft and warm, and was crazy cheap from Forever 21 in New York!

Photo Flashback - Just some pretty pictures...

Hello :)

So again I wasn't able to take any outfit pictures this weekend because our tripod has sadly gone missing. I won't get into that... but I still felt like doing at least one post this weekend. I like being able to do these quick recaps because it's nice to be able to look back through and see what I've been up to! (Probably not very interesting to anyone else...but I enjoy it!)

At the moment it's pouring rain and there was just the loudest crack of thunder!

It was beautiful weather during the day though, so my parents and I went for a little bit of an adventure - riding our bikes all the way down to Fremantle. We stopped and had a delicious lunch at Il Cibo (I had the Chicken and Mushroom Parcel with Pumpkin and Feta salad), walked around looking at some of the shops, and then slowly made our way back home (stopping for ice cream and milkshakes along the way!)

Anyway, that is completely unrelated to the pictures above! I was just going through,

trying to sort out my very cluttered iphoto library, and I came across these ones from my weekend in Margaret River in April. They were taken at the Olive Oil/Soap Factory and I thought they were pretty. I initially started out my blog with the idea that I wanted to fill it with lovely, pretty pictures (not just outfit photos!), so I thought I would share them (even if they're not related to what I was writing about at all!)

I hope you've had a lovely weekend!

My Style Diary - Biker boots and and sparkly jewels

Hi there!

So just a quick post today. I wasn't able to take any new outfit pics this weekend, but here are some photos from the weekend before. I've been really loving statement necklaces lately, which is a bit of a change for me. This one was from Portmans, and I picked it up on sale for $4.95! It's not something I would normally feel comfortable wearing (usually I go for much more understated and simple jewellery, and I generally prefer to wear long necklaces), but this one was just too pretty (and too much of a bargain!) to resist!

Anyway, I hope you're having a great night!

Birthday Celebrations!

I just wanted to share some of the photos from the tea party I had on Saturday. I love all the bright colours, and these cute polka dot tea cups which were my Bis Nonna's (Great Grandma's). I had a perfect afternoon with my best friends - chatting, overloading on sugar, and drinking a ridiculous amount of tea! These pictures just make me smile :)

I was lucky enough to receive some lovely gifts - beautiful flowers from Tom and his mum, my favourite magazines and some adorable pictures from my Parents

Thank you for a lovely birthday. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing family :)

I hope you've enjoyed the photos :)

My Style Diary - Tea Party Time!

Hello there :)

It was my birthday on Wednesday, and despite feeling quite sick and having a very tiring day at work, I ended up having a really lovely day (well night at least) - just relaxing with my family and eating yummy chocolate cake! I'm seriously so lucky to have the best family (and boyfriend) ever! I think I'll have to post some of those photos later, because I was lucky enough to receive some gorgeous flowers, that are just too pretty to not share! :)

Anyway, on Saturday I had a little tea party with my girl friends... (and Tom because he loves tea too!). I got quite excited about it and had lots of fun preparing the food and setting everything up. I'm actually a terrible cook, so I decided to stick with simple things - Cornflake crackles, cucumber sandwiches, fairy bread... (so basically kids party food!). I'm also a bit of a tea freak, so we had quite a large selection of teas to choose from!

It turned out to be a lovely afternoon just chatting and catching up. It was just what I needed after what felt like (but really wasn't) a very long week... the week always seems to drag along when you're sick!

Anyway, this is what I wore to the tea party. Sorry the photos aren't the best quality, it was getting quite dark by the time I took these! I found this white floaty blouse at Forever New, and I know it's going to become one of my most worn tops. I've been looking for something like this for ages, but they never looked quite right on me. This one is perfect - the fit, the long sheer sleeves, the beautiful but simple lace detailing along the neckline...I'm in love with it! This was also the first time that I've worn this leather jacket which I picked up in Florence. Just looking at it brings back so many great memories of our Europe trip!
