Hi Friends!
Today we’re talking about one of my favourite “wardrobe staples” - the Little White Dress (LWD).
This dress made an appearance on the blog not too long ago (see how I styled it more casually here) , and today I’m sharing an outfit that’s a little more dressed up and night time appropriate. A simple switch of a few accessories can easily take the Little White Dress from day to night (and any occasion in between!) and that’s why it is such a staple, easy to wear and versatile piece that will be a workhorse in your wardrobe!
As you knowI’m all about the Capsule Wardrobe concept - having a smaller number of items but making sure everything you own is something you truly love and can be mixed and matched in different ways to create multiple different outfits for every occasion. None of this “wear it once” business that is rather common in the fashion industry!
These photos were taken just before heading out to a special birthday dinner for Tom’s mum. I wasn’t in the mood to wear heels that day (sometimes you just want to be comfy!) so instead I paired the dress with my black pointed ballet flats, tied in the black by adding this Sportsgirl belt with a beautiful gold-ring buckle detail, and finished it off with my YCL Jewels Astrologia Necklace.
I think pairing a white dress with black is a great way to anchor it and make it less “day-time” - it just dresses it up a little more. Gold details (even just very small, delicate ones) are also a nice way to make an outfit feel a bit more special (it’s always in the little details for me!)
Hopefully this has given you a little outfit inspiration and inspired you to experiment and play with different ways you can style your favourite pieces!
