Hello friends!
What a strange time it is! I hope you’re doing okay wherever you are in the world <3
I thought today I’d provide a little escapism in the form of some old outfit photos that I never ended up posting at the time due to still being in the newborn baby haze!
Ruby was about 9 weeks old in these photos and this was one of the first times Tom and I went out without her, to celebrate our second wedding anniversary.
We went for lunch at The Shorehouse which is a lovely restaurant by the beach - I’d highly recommend it if you haven’t been there before (once we’re able to go out again that is!) as it has a great vibe and really yummy food!
We had such a nice time (although we did spend basically the whole time talking about Ruby and looking at photos of her! haha)
I wore one of my fave floral pieces - this beautiful linen jumpsuit that I was able to squeeze into due to the stretchy panel at the back, and some fun gold floral earrings. I love how this jumpsuit can feel so relaxed yet dressy at the same time - it’s one of those perfect pieces that can be transformed super easily with a simple change of accessories.
You can check out this post and video if you’d like to see it styled in a bunch of different ways! As you know I’m all about curating a simplified wardrobe of staple pieces that are versatile and will be worn for years (my “forever wardrobe” I’m calling it now) and this is definitely one of those pieces!
If you’d like some inspiration to declutter, find your signature style and create your own well-edited wardrobe during this quarantine/isolation time - you can check out my free style course here! :)
It was so nice to have an excuse to dress up after months hanging out mostly at home, and it’s kinda weird that we’re back to that again now, without any real idea of how much longer it’s going to go on for.
I’m just feeling really grateful though that I’m still on maternity leave so haven’t been too affected by Corona virus work wise (not yet anyway - that may change depending how long it goes for) and that I’m able to stay safe at home with my little bubby, but I really feel for all the small business’s that are suffering and the amazing healthcare and other workers on the front line. It’s crazy how this coronavirus pandemic has just completely affected everyone.
I’m really trying to embrace and enjoy this time though and see the positives in it as much as possible - one of the positives is that Tom is working from home so is able to see Ruby a little more throughout the day! I’ve also reconnected with a few of my international friends and am still able to chat with friends and family through Zoom/Facetime! As someone who’s been very into the online world and making virtual connections for a long time (I’ve been blogging for 7 years now! Where has the time gone??!!) this situation is making me appreciate the internet even more.
Anyway, I hope you’re staying well and that this post could bring a little joy to your day! I’d love to hear what you’ve been doing to stay positive during this interesting time!
