Hello Hello!
I hope everyones having a happy Easter weekend at home (as much as possible given the circumstances!)
It’s crazy to think how much has changed compared to this time last year - for us mostly the fact that we have another little person as part of our family, but also of course the pandemic and social distancing situation means we’re not able to celebrate as we usually would!
I was planning on sharing a longer post today about some of the things I’ve been doing to stay positive during these… interesting… times, but this week kind of got away from me, so instead we have another style diary post!
These photos are from New Years Day this year and they make me smile whenever I look at them - Ruby’s facial expressions, her funny balding head :p and the gorgeous hydrangeas :)
I figured they were perfect to share as they remind me of a really nice and rather quiet day that we spent with just the three of us, and a reminder that you can still dress up and have a little fun with fashion even when you’re staying at home. Not that wearing overalls count as “dressing up” by any means, but more that you can inject a little fun and playfulness into your style - whatever that looks like to you!
For me - that means these overalls with their pretty floral print. They’ve been a staple in my wardrobe since I bought them. The perfect comfy and functional piece (breastfeeding friendly!) that also feels cute and a bit fashion-y - in my opinion anyway - some might disagree with that - but that’s fine. I’ve accepted that I am never going to be one of those sophisticated fashion bloggers haha :p. They feel more fashion-y than just shorts and a t-shirt anyway!
Ruby’s cute little dress is from H&M and she’s also gotten a fair bit of wear out of this one! I love the pale pink and the lace detailing on the sleeves and hem. She was about 4 months in these pics and it’s still (just) fitting her now at 7 months! She’s worn this dress to 2 weddings so far, although it probably won’t be fitting her by the time we have another one to go to ;)
They have some great baby clothes at H&M and this one has been a favourite as it’s super sweet and pretty but also really soft and comfy!
Do you have any favourite baby clothes stores? I’d love to know your faves!
I’m sitting typing this at the kitchen table and I can hear Ruby waking up now, so I’ll leave it at that!
Do you have any fun Easter plans? Obviously we’re a bit more limited than usual but we can still get creative right?! We’re probably going to go for a walk today and maybe organise an Easter egg hunt in the garden! Also having dinner with my immediate family tonight (we’ve all been isolating and working from home so still thankfully able to see them!)
Have a safe and happy weekend guys!
Lots of Love
Lauren
