Hello hello!
This precious little bubba is going to be turning one soon, so I thought it would be a good time to get my act together and finally share these beautiful photos from when she was just 10 days old!
(Yes I am incredibly behind with blogging! So many gorgeous photos to share, not enough time I’m afraid!)
I remember being pregnant and all the mum’s at my work telling me how fast the time goes when they are little, and looking back, having gone through the newborn phase twice now myself, I can safely say it really does fly. Those newborn days which can feel so hazy and blurry with sleep deprivation (and that sometimes - while you’re in it - feel like they stretch on forever) really do pass by in the blink of an eye.
In the midst of all the craziness that comes with adjusting to being new parents, getting photos taken can sometimes feel like a really heavy lift, but it’s one of those things that you will never regret doing (and I say this as a mum, not just as a photographer!)
I very much remember how chaotic things can feel as a new parent, so I always like to make sure it’s a really relaxed session - we allow plenty of time for feeds, nappy changes, settling, the inevitable messes and outfit changes… I always want to make sure you feel at ease and know there’s no rush.
The same goes for when you actually choose to have your session. Before 2 weeks old is the usual recommendation if you’re wanting the really sleepy newborn photos, but sometimes you just don’t feel ready for that, so scheduling them a little later might work better for you. (This was the case for me actually - I had my newborn photos at 8 weeks for Ruby and 4 for Matteo and although at the time I remember thinking they looked so big and I’d left it a little late, looking at those photos now, a few years on, they obviously seem so small still!)
While waiting a bit longer for your newborn session can sometimes mean we won’t always get those “typical” super sleepy photos, they can be really fun, as bub is usually a bit more alert and you get to see a bit more of their personalities coming through (and we can capture their adorable funny facial expressions!)
Either way your photos will be gorgeous and you’ll be so glad you took them, whatever the time frame!
I’m planning on sharing more posts answering some of the questions I get about about in-home sessions, so if you do have any specific questions you’d like me to touch on, feel free to leave them in the comments below (or send me a message on Insta @laurennataliaphoto - I always love hearing from you guys! I’m not currently taking on new bookings but I am always happy to recommend some other wonderful Perth photographers if you’re wanting to book a photoshoot soon!)
Okay, enough of my rambling! I will leave you with these photos of this beautiful bubba and her lovely parents. Baby M was so sleepy and chilled in this session. It’s crazy to me that it’s already been almost a year since we took these!
I hope you enjoy them!
Lots of Love
Lauren
