Hello!
Day 6 of the #StayHomeReady challenge (see more about it here) and to be honest I didn’t really feel like getting ready today. I would have been quite happy to stay in my trackies!
So it fell to my trusty white shirt to help me look a bit more put together while still staying super comfy.
There’s just something about a classic white shirt isn’t there? It’s so effortless and casual but can make you feel so much more pulled together and stylish!
Today I threw it on with these khaki jeans and a straw hat when we went out for a walk. I also love the look of layered gold necklaces with a white shirt (there’s just something about that combination!) so today I wore two of my fave YCL jewels pieces - The “Constellation Choker” and “Her Canvas Necklace”.
They’re such delicate subtle pieces of jewellery but they can make such a difference and just “finish off” a look. It really is all about the little details for me!
This challenge is reminding me that (for me anyway), fashion isn’t about vanity or looking good for other people. It’s about just playing and really enjoying the clothing and jewellery I own because it makes me feel good! I love beautiful design, and being able to play and have that creative expression through style brings so much joy!
I have always felt like this blog is a little silly/frivolous/ even narcissistic at times (so many photos of me!) but you know what - life can be so serious (I mean - just look at what’s going on in the world now!) sometimes we need a little fun and frivolity!
Blogging was always a form of escapism from me from the very beginning. I would read fashion and beauty blogs when I was at uni and procrastinating studying and they would always make me smile… I hope in some way my posts can do that for you too :)
I thought I would share a few photos of this little corner of our home in this post too. Ruby actually slept in this morning so I had some time to myself before getting started with the day and it was so lovely sitting in this corner with my tea and reading.
I haven’t shared much of our new place here on the blog yet because it has taken us such a long time to clear away all the boxes and chaos! Having just moved in a few weeks before Ruby was born (and her being a couple of weeks early too!), it meant I didn’t get the opportunity to set everything up as I would have liked!
7 months on, the place is still very much a work in progress (and we still have a room filled with boxes) but things are slowly coming together, and I feel like I’m finally able to properly enjoy this beautiful space we’re lucky enough to live in! This is my little corner of calm right now and I absolutely love it :)
It’s getting really late now so I’ll leave it at that!
I hope you have a lovely weekend!
Lots of Love
Lauren
