My Style Diary - Work Wear #3

Here we have a set of photos that I took weeks ago and somehow forgot about!

I present to you another work outfit - once again following my standard (slightly boring) formula of black pants + ballet flats + shirt.

I am extremely unadventurous when it comes to dressing for work, preferring instead to enjoy the extra sleep time, so having a standard "uniform" makes things flow much more smoothly early in the morning.

These Country Road pants are probably the single most worn item of clothing in my wardrobe - I have 2 pairs that are on constant rotation due to the fact that

a) they're super comfy (something that rates very highly with me),

b) they go with pretty much every top I own (duhh they're black pants!) and

c) they are a breeze to wash and iron (unlike that shirt I mentioned in my last post!)

As you can probably tell from most of my outfits, I'm all about simple, easy dressing, and that particularly applies to my work wardrobe. Looking put together with minimal effort is my general fashion philosophy.

Wow, that's the second post where I've talked about ironing... I'll do my best to make the next post more exciting!

My Style Diary - Khaki and a Crumpled Shirt

Ahh crumpled shirt - how you frustrate me! This is one of my favourite and most worn shirts, but annoyingly, no matter how perfectly I think I've ironed it, five minutes after I put it on it reverts back to its creased and crumpled state! Does anyone else have this problem??

Clearly it doesn't bother me

that

much because I continue to wear it and put up with the wrinkles, hopefully not appearing too dishevelled. I like easy, laid-back looks so I guess it just adds to the whole "I just threw this on" kinda vibe. Or is that just wishful thinking?

Ah well - it worked well enough for a relaxed Saturday lunch out with Tom :)

If anyone have any secrets for keeping shirts wrinkle free let me know!

Lots of Love

My Style Diary - Colour Me Happy

Hello Hello!

So far October hasn't been a very successful month in terms of blogging... I don't really have any excuses other than that I just haven't been feeling it, but hopefully the rest of the month will improve... starting off with this summery outfit from a couple of weekends ago :)

While I've said before I have a bit of a thing for neutrals (mainly just white), when the weather warms up I love injecting a bit of colour into my wardrobe.

Warm, sunny days call for bright, cheerful colours to match.

I find wearing fun colours to be one of the easiest ways  to lift my mood and bring a smile to my face. No one can be grumpy when wearing a bright pink shirt and minty-blue nail polish!

What's your go-to "happy colour"?

*Random side note* - It just started thundering and pouring with rain as I was finishing off writing this and apparently there's a huge storm coming so this posts doesn't seem particularly seasonally appropriate right now! Ah well... Spring weather is just weird... (but always fun and surprising :))

My Style Diary - New Boots and Breakfast

Good Morning! Happy Saturday :)

I've just been having a rather chilled out start to the day - drinking tea, painting my nails and getting other bits and bobs done around the house. It's so nice and sunny today so I think I'll be heading out for some breakfast soon which I'm excited about as I am starving!

This is what I wore out for breakfast last weekend. We tried out a new place in South Perth called Gusto Food, which was absolutely delicious - I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict with pulled pork and the French Toast which was served with bacon and a huge slab of fresh honeycomb. The french toast was actually Tom's breakfast, but I ended up eating a fair portion of it... it was soo good!

It was a bit drearier last week so the tights and boots still had to be pulled out, but I really wanted to wear this new dress I picked up from Transit a couple of weeks ago. Actually, looking at the photos now I've realised that most of what I'm wearing are new things (which is very bad of me *slaps self on wrist*, as I really don't need to be buying any more clothes!) The problem is the bargain hunter in me and the fact that I just can't turn down an amazing deal! A prime example are these boots from Saba which were 60% off and the last pair was in my size! How can you say no to that?? I don't regret it as I know they'll become a wardrobe staple, but I probably didn't need to buy yet another pair of boots!

I have decided though that I'm just going to stop going for my weekly stroll around the shops after I finish work (I finish early on Thursdays and have developed a rather bad habit of just popping in to have a "quick look" on my way home). If I don't see all the bargains I won't be tempted!

Anyway, I hope you're having a fab Saturday!

My Style Diary - White Dress Obsessed

I think everyone probably has their own "Shopping Weakness" - a particular kind of item that they unintentionally collect and can never walk past without stopping to have a peak.

For me - there are two things; white dresses and white tops.

I don't know what it is, but for some reason I'm just drawn to them - as evidenced by the fact that my wardrobe is overflowing with various items of white clothing (usually of the sheer, floaty variety).

Forget the LBD, I'm all about the Little White Dress!

This particular one is from Zara, and from the moment I tried it on I knew it would be coming home with me. I love the light floaty fabric and the beautiful embroidery and can tell it's going to be getting a lot of love over the coming months.

These heels have also become firm favourites, which you could probably already guess seeing as this is the fourth outfit post they've been in since I bought them last month! They go with everything and the fact that I can actually walk in them without wobbling all over the place and rolling my ankles (a common occurrence for me) means they get extra bonus points!

Anyway, that's it for today. What's your "Shopping weakness"?

Lots of Love
