My Style Diary - Stripes and Boyfriend Jeans

Hello!

So today I'm sharing what is probably my most worn outfit of all time - jeans + a stripy shirt is one of my most loved combinations (I know, I'm

so

original), and this particular pairing has been on repeat since I picked up these super comfy boyfriend jeans back in May.

Admittedly they're probably not the most flattering cut on a shorty like me (or should I say "petite person"  - yeah that sounds better),  with the cuffed hems sometimes emphasising the short-leg thing, but  looking past that, I really love the style and fit, and the denim is the perfect blue wash, not to mention how lovely and soft they are (and as you would know by now if you've read my blog at all, comfort is a

big

thing for me!)

There's not really a whole lot more to say about this outfit :)

Apologies for the kinda boring backgrounds in these last two posts. I don't have a nice backyard to take photos in anymore (it would be a little inconvenient having to head to my parents place every time I want to take blog photos) so for now I'm trying to work with the cream/slightly yellow walls of my apartment (not exactly my colour of choice, but not bad enough to repaint at this stage!)

Hopefully I can rope Tom into taking some nicer photos for me next weekend!

Hope you're having a great Monday night!

Lots of Love

My Style Diary - Polka Dot Dress... and a Video!

Hello Hello! :)

I hope you've been having a great Monday. It's a public holiday here in Perth, so I've been having a lovely relaxing day (and also managed to do a tonne of spring cleaning - my apartment is so clean right now and it feels awesome!)

As usual these photos are from a few weeks ago - Father's day to be exact - and I'm only now getting around to posting them!

I love this polka dot dress and can already tell it will be getting a lot of wear this spring and summer. The print is so cute and fresh, and it's my favourite kind of cut with the flared out skirt (perfect for twirling around in!) ;)

There's so many ways to wear it and I actually made a little video showing a few different looks. I had a lot of fun editing this together and it's a fun way for me to experiment with my wardrobe and try different combinations, so there might be a few similar videos coming your way soon!

Hope you're having a fab day!

Let me know what you think of the video :p

My Style Diary - Perfect Sunny Sunday

Hello Hello :)

So I'm back with another bunch of photos from a few weeks ago, these ones from a particularly perfect Sunday.

I don't know if I've mentioned before, but my mood is often hugely influenced by the weather, and beautiful sunny days (particularly when it's been weeks of gloomy, cold weather) always put the biggest smile on my face and make me a bit ridiculously giddy with happiness (does anyone else get like this or is it just me?)

Anyway, these photos are from one of those days where I was just feeling so incredibly happy and grateful for everything. Nothing crazy exciting or out of the ordinary happened, but we just enjoyed the simple things - going out for a morning walk along the river, breakfast at a cafe nearby, visiting our local library for the first time since we moved to our new place and borrowing a few books (on a side note, I highly recommend reading "The Secret Keeper" by Kate Morton - it is a great read!), just my perfect kind of day.

Anyway, I hope you are having a lovely Sunday right now!

Lots of Love

My Style Diary - Blue Skies and Winter Sunshine

Hello Hello :)

Today's photos were actually taken way back in June, on a lovely warm and sunny winter's day. I've said it so many times before, but we are incredibly lucky here in Perth with the amount of sunshine we get.

Despite our relatively mild winters, I have to say I am definitely ready for spring. It's been very chilly (by my standards anyway) the past few weeks and the rainy, dark mornings have not been welcome when I'm dragging myself out the door on the way to work. I'm thinking some warmer weather and lighter days will help... just one more month until it's officially spring and it will hopefully start warming up!

This cold weather is one of the main reasons there hasn't been much happening here on the blog lately. I've just been very uninspired outfit-wise because all I want to wear when it's cold is a pair of jeans and the warmest jumper I can find.

I've actually been doing my own version of the Project 333 capsule wardrobe challenge over the past few months and it's actually been pretty easy so far. For anyone who doesn't know what it is, it's where you narrow down your wardrobe to 33 items and wear just these for the season (3 months). You can read all about it

here

if you're interested.

I haven't actually cut my wardrobe down to 33 items - being strict about the number isn't really what the challenge is about in my opinion, but I've definitely been simplifying things more than I ever have before and doing it in a way that feels right for me.

You would think that living with such a small wardrobe would be a bit restrictive, but I actually have a good range of options that I know I could put together a variety of outfits with. The only problem has been that I just haven't bothered! I'm going to put in a bit more effort for the rest of August though - I want to see how versatile this capsule wardrobe thing can be!

I'm planning on doing more posts on this topic, but I'll leave it at that for now - I'm off to continue watching The OC -  I'd forgotten how much I loved that show, and it's making me a little nostalgic for high school :)

Have a good Sunday night!

My Style Diary - A Walk Through the Botanic Gardens

Hello :)

Happy Saturday!

I've just got back from work and finally have a chance to sit down and share another set of photos from our trip to Melbourne. Yay! :)

These were taken towards the end of rather tiring (but fun) day, as we were strolling through the Botanic Gardens on our way back to the hotel.

Earlier in the day we had accidentally hopped off the tram at the wrong spot and ended up walking pretty much the whole length of Chapel Street (which is a bloody long road!)

We could have easily caught another tram, but we were having fun just wandering along and exploring... although it did leave me a little grumpy and with very sore feet by the end of it!

As we made our way back though, we decided to walk through the Botanic Gardens, and all traces of my earlier grumpiness disappeared. The gardens were just lovely, with brightly coloured flowers and beautiful trees with their leaves all yellow and orange and red. Such beautiful autumn colours.

We were also treated to a stunning sunset with the sky and clouds over the city turning a gorgeous orangey-pinky-purple shade that the photos just don't do justice to!

For my outfit I was wearing a new pair of jeans that I'd just purchased the day before. I'd been looking for a pair of comfy boyfriend-style jeans for ages and these ones are perfect. Paired with this quilted white jumper, a scarf and parka, it was a very comfy, relaxed outfit for a long day of walking and exploring.

That's it for today

I hope you're having a fab weekend :)

Lots of Love
