My Style Diary - A day full of food!

Hello :)

So it's Saturday night and I'm sitting here typing with a heat pack on my neck because my neck is killing me! I was "studying" today (by studying I mean just doing some dental related reading while Tom was doing actual work on his thesis), and I probably wasn't sitting in the best position. Silly Lauren! :p

Anyway, this is what I wore yesterday. Tom and I went for breakfast, and I had the best french toast I've ever eaten (see above photo, doesn't it look delicious?!) Later on, I went and met up with my mum for lunch and then at night my friend cooked a  "Mexican Feast" for us. It was a great day filled with two of my favourite things - catching up with some of my favourite people and eating amazing food! (not so good for my health...but...oh well...)

I really need to start getting into my "healthy eating" kick. I go through phases where I will be really healthy for a while, and then I'll go through a "Whatever...it's yummy I'll just eat whatever I want" kind of phase. I'm going to make a conscious effort this week to make better choices!

Anyway, I don't really have much more to say tonight, so I'll leave it at that. I hope you're having a lovely Satuday night :)

What's In My Bag

Hello :)

Seeing as I have a little more time tonight I thought l would do another post, and for some reason I really felt like doing a "What's in my bag" post today. I always find reading other peoples "What's in my bag" posts intriguing, so I thought I may as well jump on the bandwagon. I took photos for this quite some time ago, but never got around to writing this up. Anyway...here we go...

1)

Glasses

- I used to only wear them in class, but unfortunately I've been slowly getting blinder and now they're usually always on my face!

2) Phone

3)

Too many lip products!

- Burts bees lipbalm (my favourite lip balm), Chanel Coco Shine Lipstick, Revlon Kissable Balm stain ...and usually a lot more accumulate in there!

4)

Travalo

perfume atomizer which is filled with my favourite perfume - Vera Wang Princess. It's such a handy little invention :)

5)

Hand Cream

- this one's the

Great Barrier Island Bee Co

. Manuka honey hand cream, and it smells lovely.

6)

Wallet

- this was a birthday present last year and I absolutely love the colour :)

7)

Diary

- this one's from Kikki.K, they have the cutest stationary!

8)

Mirror

- my best friend brought this back from Paris for me :)

9)

Spare hair tie

10)

Mints

11)

Headphones

12)

A snack

- in this case roasted almonds :)

My bag is from Jigsaw. It was my Graduation Present to myself once I started working and I spent a long time researching which one to get! I wanted a neutral bag that would go with everything, and this one does just that (and has a nice subtle  pink colour on the sides and bottom to make it just a bit more interesting). It's also the perfect size and style!

Anyway, so that's what's in my bag...  :)

My Style Diary - Nostalgia

Hello :)

Sunday night already! This weekend has gone by so quickly. Probably because this is the first week this year that I actually had a full working week. It was very busy, but it's good that work is starting to pick up a bit! Otherwise I'm going to get too used to 3 day weekends!

Anyway, it's been a lovely weekend. On Friday night I had the Engineering Ball and it was an awesome night. My friends came over early and we got ready together, which always gets the night off to a fun start, and it's always good to have help with last minute decisions of what to wear, makeup etc... :)

Then today I had a 3 hour Swing Dancing workshop. I've tried Swing dancing before, about 3 years ago, but because things were just so busy with uni I never really committed to it. It was a really fun day and I'm excited to get into it! It's been on my list of "Things I want to do" for so long.

I took these photos last weekend, and I feel like such a little kid in this outfit...but I love it! I used to wear overalls all the time and was so excited when I found these ones. I like how they're a bit different to the typical ones that you see around. Another thing that makes me excited is the fact that Jelly shoes seem to be coming back into fashion. I haven't bought a pair yet because I'm trying to be good...but I'm sure next summer I won't be able to resist! They take me straight back to year 5!

What I'm Wearing

Overalls - from Singapore

Top - Mink Pink

Shoes - from Paris

Watch - Thomas Sabo

Bracelets - Pandora and a birthday gift

Nail Polish - OPI Do you lilac it

the sparkly one was a free sample from Sportsgirl!

My Style Diary - Another comfy outfit

Hello again :)

I'm sitting here with a cup of chamomile tea and feeling really content, (which is surprising for a Sunday night). I've actually had a really productive day and knocked off quite a few things on my "To Do List". One of them is sign up for Swing Dancing! I've been saying I'm going to do it for ages now, and I'm really looking forward to starting!

This is the last outfit from my weekend down south. It's obviously just very casual, but I couldn't resist making the most of the opportunity to take photos in such beautiful surroundings. I'm in love with this scarf from Witchery which I'd had my eye on for ages and finally picked up when it went on sale!

It should be a good week this week - I have quite a few things to look forward to! Meeting up with my friend Lucy who I haven't seen in ages, the Engineering Ball on Friday night (which will probably be the last uni ball that I go to), and the Swing Dance Workshop on Sunday.

I hope you have a fantastic week!

Lots of Love

My Style Diary - By the Olive Trees

Hello there!

This is another outfit I wore last weekend while I was in Margaret River. It's typical "Lauren" - comfy and cozy. This was the first time I'd had a chance to wear this scarf which I found at the Markets when I was in Cambridge last year. I really like the bird print (I think they might be swallows?) and it brings back so many good memories of the day I bought it. It's funny how clothing can do that - have so many memories attached!

 I hope you're having a lovely Sunday!

What I'm Wearing

Top - United Colors of Benetton

Jeans - Calvin Klein

Shoes - All Saints

Scarf - Markets in Cambridge
