Hello Hello :)
Just a quick, personal post today. As we’re approaching my first mother’s day I was looking back on these photos from last year, and wanted to share them so they could be recorded on the blog!
It is so crazy how much can change in one year. In these photos I was 21 weeks pregnant and hadn’t even announced the pregnancy yet - only our closest family and friends knew! (See this post if you want to know how I managed to hide that giant tummy! haha)
Last year we had a Mother’s Day breakfast at my parents house. We were all pretty excited that in a year there would be a baby around and now Ruby is 8 months old - she’s so alert and curious about everything and such a happy, smiley little bubba!
Becoming a mum has given me a whole new level of appreciation for my own mumma. We’ve always been super close, but it’s just grown even more. Especially seeing how completely head-over-heels in love with Ruby she is. She gets so excited to see her - her face just lights up whenever we arrive at their place, and she can spend hours playing on the floor and coming up with silly games to make Ruby laugh. It makes me realise she must have been just like this with me when I was a baby too. I feel so lucky to have a mum like her and I just hope I can be as loving, involved and fun with Ruby as she was for me.
So as I promised - just a super quick post today… I feel like I should be writing something more deep and meaningful about motherhood, but maybe inspiration for that will come later. I’m just feeling so lucky that I get to be a mum to my beautiful little bubba and super grateful for my own mum right now :)
Happy Mother’s Day to any other mum’s reading this!
Lots of Love
Lauren
