Hi friends!
I’m back today sharing 3 ways of styling one of my fave versatile wardrobe staples - the jumpsuit!
While a jumpsuit may not be the first piece that springs to mind when it comes to wardrobe must-haves, I’ve found that for me and my style, jumpsuits are just a super easy “one and done” piece that can be worn in so many different ways and are perfect for almost any occasion! They’re easy to throw on (like a dress there’s no need to find something to match it with!) and have that relaxed, cool vibe to them. At the same time a jumpsuit can still be easily dressed up for a more fancy look!
I feel like I write the same thing over and over again when I talk about wardrobe staples, but I guess that’s what it’s all about - easy pieces that can be transformed for any occasion!
This one from French Connection (which is still available and currently on sale!) is so comfy and got bonus points because the ribbed bodice makes it breastfeeding friendly too - something that was a very important factor for me this past summer!
I love the long, loose floaty pants and more fitted top. For me it was full length as I’m a real shortie (at 158cm or 5ft 2) but for those less vertically challenged it looks super cool with the more cropped length as it’s probably intended to be worn! My blogging friend Rachel from the blog A Nesting Nomad bought it and although she’s a lot taller than me it works so well for her too! I love when pieces are so universally flattering!!
As it’s getting cooler in Perth now, I think it would probably look pretty cool layered with a jumper too but I haven’t experimented with that yet.
If you’d like some more jumpsuit styling inspo you can check out this video where I showed How To Style A Floral Jumpsuit 8 different ways, but for now - here are 3 ways I’ve styled this navy blue one:
1) Simple and Summery With Tan Sandals
This probably doesn’t count as “styling” as in these photos I’ve literally just thrown it on with a pair of sandals, and called it a day, but that’s the beauty of a jumpsuit - it looks cool and pulled together without needing to add anything else! Pairing it with a summer hat would also amp up the relaxed summery vibes (which I did frequently but unfortunately never snapped a photo!)
I also love how it looks with a crossbody bag. This is my really special Mulberry Amberley Satchel - my first and probably last (for a very long time anyway!) designer bag, which was my birthday gift to myself last year. I bought it while in Sydney (on our last trip before Ruby was born! … it was heavily discounted and Tom enabled me!!)
2) Layered With A White Tee
I love how this jumpsuit looks layered with a white tee. Just makes it even more casual and adds a bit of interest (and sun protection for the shoulders ;))
You ideally want a simple crew necked t-shirt that’s quite fitted so you don’t get awkward bulkiness when it’s layered over. This one I’m wearing is my fave white t-shirt from Country Road* and is a staple in my wardrobe! I highly recommend Country Road for basics - they do some really great pieces!
I also popped on my YCL Jewels Astrologia Necklace which just makes every outfit a little more special :)
3) Dressed Up With Heels and Delicate Gold Jewellery
I love that with this jumpsuit you can simply throw it on with a pair of heels and it instantly looks more night-time appropriate! The fact that it’s a dark navy colour makes it more versatile for fancier events even though it’s quite a casual fabric and cut! This was actually going to be my back-up outfit for a wedding I was went to (important when you have a little baby… you need to think about these things!!)
I wore it with my YCL Jewels Infinite Choker* and earrings (which are from an older collection so no longer available sorry!) As you can probably tell I have a bit of an obsession with the brand. They have such stunning pieces and I love the story of how they started - the founder Fabienne was originally a nurse before she started designing and hand making jewellery and I just love hearing about women starting their own businesses (probably because I dream of doing that myself someday, just haven’t found my thing yet!!)
So those are the three ways I’ve styled this jumpsuit so far! We’ll see if I come up with any creative ways to wear it through the cooler months and I’ll report back if I do!
Hope you enjoyed! As always, come say hi over on Insta @laurennatalia.co or leave a comment below!
Lots of Love
