Hello hello :)
I’ve decided to start a new little series on the blog called “The Lifestyle Diaries” as a place to share the myriad of photos I have of the special times we have together as a family (and that don’t really warrant a “My Style Diary” type of post!)
Hopefully while I’m documenting these times for myself - and stopping them from getting lost in the depths of my phone - they can give you a little inspiration too - whether it be for things to do or places to go in Perth!
Obviously at this strange time with Covid-19 and lockdown, these photos are a flashback!
These were taken back in November when we went to the Perth Upmarket. Visiting the Upmarket which is held 4 times a year at the beautiful grounds of The University of Western Australia is one of our favourite things to do and this was the first time taking Ruby! She was about 2.5 months old here and slept the whole time in the ring sling which I highly recommend by the way - this one is from Wildbird and is so soft! I loved baby wearing - so cozy and convenient and she seemed to love it too - just look how relaxed she is in these photos!!
I remember taking these pics and thinking she looked so big (compared to when she was born!) but now looking back I’m like - “oh my gosh you were so tiny!!”
It really is crazy how fast time flies when you have a little one - this has been the fastest (and also in some ways the slowest) 8.5 months of my life. It’s so bittersweet - I absolutely love seeing her growing and changing and becoming more curious and fun everyday - and yet it also makes me sad because I want her to be my little baby forever!! She’s at such a cute age now though - really alert and interactive and interested in everything!
The Upmarket is such a fun weekend activity - it’s so nice just to have a stroll around looking at all the cool things these local artists/designers/makers are offering (my favourite things to buy are prints for our house - you can see some of them in these posts - How To Create A Gallery Wall and Our Apartment Tour) and get a bite to eat from the huge selection of delicious foods!
We always get something from TapasMan - their Spanish Meatballs with polenta and Patatas bravas are so good!
So just a quick trip down memory lane today! I’m not sure when the next Perth Upmarket will be considering everything that’s been going on, but it’s definitely one of the things I’m looking forward to when things eventually return to “normal”. What’s something you’re looking forward to getting back to when things eventually settle down?
Lots of Love
Lauren
