Hello Hello!
These photos were taken way back in December (on Boxing day actually) and I thought I’d quickly share them with you as although I look a little awkward, I do really like the outfit!
These Kookai shorts are a summer staple for me and, although I can’t fit into them currently as I’m about 6 months pregnant, I’m hoping they’ll still get lots of wear in years to come! (fingers crossed… maybe I’m being a little too optimistic??)
They’re such pretty soft pink colour, I love the higher waist and the fact they’re a more tailored style means they can be dressed up a little more than a standard pair of shorts.
For this outfit I paired them with a simple black crop top (also from Kookai - they do great basic tops!) and black pointed flats. I think it’s a cute look and a fun way to embrace the crop top trend without showing off too much!!
I thought this look also showed a good example of how to trick the eye into thinking your legs are longer than they actually are! I’m quite a small person (5 foot 2) so always love finding ways of dressing that make me look a little taller without having to wear heels!
By wearing a pair of shorter shorts with a higher waist, it draws the eye up and makes it look like your legs start a little higher up than they actually do.
Paired with pointed shoes that elongate the legs (with no ankle strap - that’s important so it doesn’t “cut” your leg"), you’ve got a simple way of faking longer legs!
Hope you enjoyed this outfit and quick tip :)
Let me know if you have any little tricks to make yourself look taller!
