My Style Diary - Nostalgia

Hello :)

Sunday night already! This weekend has gone by so quickly. Probably because this is the first week this year that I actually had a full working week. It was very busy, but it's good that work is starting to pick up a bit! Otherwise I'm going to get too used to 3 day weekends!

Anyway, it's been a lovely weekend. On Friday night I had the Engineering Ball and it was an awesome night. My friends came over early and we got ready together, which always gets the night off to a fun start, and it's always good to have help with last minute decisions of what to wear, makeup etc... :)

Then today I had a 3 hour Swing Dancing workshop. I've tried Swing dancing before, about 3 years ago, but because things were just so busy with uni I never really committed to it. It was a really fun day and I'm excited to get into it! It's been on my list of "Things I want to do" for so long.

I took these photos last weekend, and I feel like such a little kid in this outfit...but I love it! I used to wear overalls all the time and was so excited when I found these ones. I like how they're a bit different to the typical ones that you see around. Another thing that makes me excited is the fact that Jelly shoes seem to be coming back into fashion. I haven't bought a pair yet because I'm trying to be good...but I'm sure next summer I won't be able to resist! They take me straight back to year 5!

My Style Diary - Another comfy outfit

Hello again :)

I'm sitting here with a cup of chamomile tea and feeling really content, (which is surprising for a Sunday night). I've actually had a really productive day and knocked off quite a few things on my "To Do List". One of them is sign up for Swing Dancing! I've been saying I'm going to do it for ages now, and I'm really looking forward to starting!

This is the last outfit from my weekend down south. It's obviously just very casual, but I couldn't resist making the most of the opportunity to take photos in such beautiful surroundings. I'm in love with this scarf from Witchery which I'd had my eye on for ages and finally picked up when it went on sale!

It should be a good week this week - I have quite a few things to look forward to! Meeting up with my friend Lucy who I haven't seen in ages, the Engineering Ball on Friday night (which will probably be the last uni ball that I go to), and the Swing Dance Workshop on Sunday.

I hope you have a fantastic week!

Lots of Love

My Style Diary - By the Olive Trees

Hello there!

This is another outfit I wore last weekend while I was in Margaret River. It's typical "Lauren" - comfy and cozy. This was the first time I'd had a chance to wear this scarf which I found at the Markets when I was in Cambridge last year. I really like the bird print (I think they might be swallows?) and it brings back so many good memories of the day I bought it. It's funny how clothing can do that - have so many memories attached!

 I hope you're having a lovely Sunday!

What I'm Wearing

Top - United Colors of Benetton

Jeans - Calvin Klein

Shoes - All Saints

Scarf - Markets in Cambridge

My Style Diary - A Relaxing Weekend :)

Hello :)

So, tonight didn't exactly go as planned... I was going to have a really chilled out night, watch a movie and go to sleep early (my normal boring routine that I was actually really looking forward to!). But instead, I got roped into playing indoor soccer! Anyone who know's me, know's that I am not a sporty person. I'm okay with things involving my own body - dance...skiing...rollerblading. As soon as you add a ball - not good! I think this is partly because I had a bad experience with a softball (that was in no way soft) hitting me in the face  when I was younger. Anyway, my friend called me up (after calling everybody in his contacts list) and begged me to play, otherwise they would have to forfeit. After much persuasion I reluctantly agreed... and you know what? It was actually quite fun! Luckily for me, it was soccer, and out of all the team sports, it would have to be my favourite - because you don't have to catch or throw!

Anyway, seeing as I ended up enjoyed myself after being so grumpy about having to go and play,  I've had a realisation. I've been really close minded lately when it comes to trying new things, and getting into a bit of a rut. I really just need to get out and be more sociable and get involved in more things. I'm only 22 for goodness sakes...and sometimes I act like a 62 year old! When I was still studying, there were so many things I said I was going to do once I finished uni, and so far I haven't really done any of them. But I'm going to get started!

Back to the pictures. I took these photos this past weekend while I was in Margaret River with my Dad, Uncle, Grandparents and Tom. We had a really nice weekend going for walks through the bush, having lunch at Saracen Winery, visiting a Meadery and the Olive Oil Factory... I find it's just so relaxing going down south, the bush is so peaceful and calming, and it was great to have a different setting for photos!

Dress - Don't Ask Amanda

Cardigan - Pull and Bear

Boots - All Saints

Bag - Country Road

My Style Diary - Off to the Movies

Hello :)

Today I went to see "The Host" with one of my friends. I'd read the book by Stephanie Meyer quite some time ago and really enjoyed it, but wasn't sure how they would go adapting it for the screen. I actually think they did a really good job, although my friend, who had read the book more recently, said there were some discrepancies. Regardless, it was a very enjoyable afternoon. I love it when movies suck you in and can just make you forget about your own life...if only for a little while.

Anyway, I was feeling super girly today. I don't normally go for these kind of corset tops, but I quite like how it looks with the skirt. Usually I only wear it with jeans, so it was good for a bit of a change. I'm trying to be more adventurous!

What I'm Wearing

Top - Forever New

Skirt - Jeans West

Bag - Jigsaw

Shoes - Wittner
