Hello! :)
Today I’m sharing a Style Diary post from our last day in Sydney. We spent the day strolling (rather slowly because my tummy was starting to feel quite heavy!) from Potts Point, through the Botanic Gardens and to the Sydney Opera House. It was the first slightly rainy day since we’d been there, but we managed to avoid getting too wet and had a really lovely relaxing time exploring. As I mentioned in my previous posts about this trip - it was all about just taking it easy, seeing a few sights/touristy things and eating lots of good food.
Speaking of food, after taking these photos at The Opera House, we headed to the Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café that was nearby and I enjoyed a delicious peppermint hot chocolate. It was particularly memorable because Bubby clearly enjoyed it too - it felt like she was doing backflips in my tummy and going a bit crazy!
This outfit has been my standard “uniform” during my pregnancy and one of the outfits that I feel the best in.
This fitted jumper from French Connection is one that I’ve had for years. The fine knit is perfect because it actually emphasises the bump rather than adding more bulk, and I love the bow detail down the back! I’ve found that I’m not super fond of stripes lately, but I’m really enjoying this top - I think it’s because it’s a little softer than you’re usual blue and white (or black and white options) with the grey background and fine pink stripe being a little more subtle.
You can see the jumper styled a few different ways in posts from The Archives (wow that’s a trip down memory lane!):

I wore my Ripe Maternity Isla Jeggings (which have become my favourite maternity jeans - mine are the ankle grazer version because I’m a shortie!), comfy adidas trainers, threw on my trusty Marcs jacket and this cozy scarf from Zara. This has been one of my staple scarves this winter as I really love the burgundy colour and how it is so thick and warm - perfect for adding extra coziness an outfit!
These pieces are just absolute staples in my wardrobe - ones that I wear again and again and that make getting dressed so easy. The great thing about having pieces like this is that you can dress it up with a few simple switches. I’ll do another post soon, but by simply switching to some black jeans and boots, this outfit can immediately be made a more night-time, “going out for dinner” appropriate, but still remaining warm and comfy. Just what you want when you’re pregnant and it’s cold and wintery!!
Of course I have to mention my necklaces because I’ve pretty much only been wearing this combo since getting them! (The choker was my birthday present from Tom this year!)
They’re from YCL Jewels and they are the Astrologia Necklace paired with the Constellation Choker. I love them layered together and I’ve actually received so many compliments on them!
(See my review of YCL Jewels in this post)
Funny story about the Astrologia Necklace: You can personalise it by choosing your Star Sign (big pendant) and Rising Sign (small pendant). I’m a Gemini and for months I thought my Rising Sign was Libra… turns out I’d put my birth time in one hour earlier than I was actually born and my Rising Sign is in fact Virgo :p Whoops!
I’m not very knowledgable about star signs etc and don’t really put much stock in them, but I do find it fascinating and super fun to read about! For the record - I actually feel like I relate to Libra as my Rising Sign more than Virgo… but oh well! hehe :)
If you’re into astrology, let me know what your star sign is (and if you feel like it describes you well!)
I hope you enjoyed the post and this simple but very much staple outfit that I’ve been wearing on repeat during winter! It’s definitely one of my favourite “Bump Style” looks!
As you’ll be able to see if you clicked on the old outfit posts above, this jumper really has been such a great piece in my wardrobe (since at least 2013!)
If you buy good quality, staple pieces, that really suit your signature style, you can get so much wear out of them for years! When you know what you like and what works for you, it’s so much easier to choose these pieces that will be long lasting and well loved!
